His delica...Blot was my favorite character as well. His delicacy is almost surreal in the story. I definitely think there is hope, because Lorca has experienced an alternative to her relationship with her mother. She now knows what it means to have a caring relationship that goes both ways. Every character has a story that shifts during the course of the novel. Even the story of the masgouf. What an interesting mix of flavors in your tagine. I like the idea of "food for a happy crowd." A tagine, with its unique spice blend, is often cooked in a special-purpose clay pot. The tagine actually originates in Morocco (which isn't in the MIddle East -- it's all the way on the other end of the Mediterranean).
